Located in the heart of the Leatherstocking Region, famous for its robust whitetail deer population, this mostly wooded property is well set back from the main road and offers undisturbed secluded habitat and terrain for hunting trophy bucks. There is a 950 foot long driveway into the main body of the property, where it then gently slopes downwards on both sides of al year round stream, which cuts through the property, eventually leading to a series of successive, nice sized beaver ponds, providing a diverse habitat from forest to wetlands for whitetail, turkey, furbearers and waterfowl. Deer trails and tracks were abundant during the recent visit to the property, where the deer have plenty of cover and ideal habitat for feed/browse, including apple trees and acorns as well as brush for hiding and bedding down. In fact, this property is only a short 240 foot walk from its border to the largest pond (over 13 acres of water) in the state land There are many trails throughout this property, which are easy to walk or traverse by ATV. The surrounding woods are vast expanses providing undisturbed areas where bucks can mature and the trails on the property offer easy lanes for bucks to move through the property and great strategic locations for tree stands throughout. While this is a secluded location, there are a host of amenities less than a half hour away in Cooperstown or Oneonta, including the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Cooperstown Dreams Park, Cooperstown All-Star Village as well as other cultural attractions: Fenimore Art Museum, Farmers Museum, Brewery Ommegang, Glimmerglass Theatre, Hartwick College and SUNY Oneonta.
